Change in Paediatric First Aid.

As you may be aware, the Department for Education (DfE) does not currently specify a syllabus for paediatric rst aid courses for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). However, following extensive consultation with key stakeholders in the industry, the DfE will shortly be publishing a course syllabus for both the full paediatric rst aid course and the emergency paediatric rst aid course.

In line with these changes, the First Aid Awarding Organisations Forum have been liaising with the DfE to write new units for the regulated paediatric and emergency paediatric rst aid quali cations.

These new units have now been agreed and approved by the DfE as meeting both current and new requirements. As such, on the 1st January 2017 the current regulated paediatric and emergency paediatric first aid qualifcations will be replaced by the new Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) & Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) quali cations.
